Jeff, spent a fair amount of time watching Washington and politicians are pictured often in his work (Party Animal II, Bad Kitty).

Jeff generally placed his portraits in the foreground of large color fields, this painting his subject is placed in a chair. This painting also shows an unusually linearly approach to the rendering of the paint. The background, while quite dark, is actually rows upon rows of books.
